Automatic FOLLOWING of Content Topics

Good Morning!

After experimenting a bit with different options for our Topic Boards within Community, and how to make it easy for new subscribers to get going and not miss content, I've decided at this time to make all CONTENT Topics (that I'm the sole poster in) such as: Archive, CONTEXTUS, Pneuma, WONDERVOTIONAL automatically followed by subscribers. This is going to be much better in the long run I believe rather than trying to remind every new subscriber to "FOLLOW".

While they can't be "unfollowed", you can easily control notifications for each topic by selecting the bell icon "🔔" under the specific topic on the ALL TOPICS page.

NOTE: We will keep working and adjusting as needed. Please share any feedback. Also, for now, various Connection focused topics, (Adventures, Motorcycles) will still need to be FOLLOWED manually by the community member. That aspect of Community is going to take some time to grow but, at this time, the list of automatically followed topics seems to be a good starting point and things we don't want new folks to miss.

Have an amazing day!

Question! Is there a way to have a "notification bell" on your user profile so it's easy to see posts and comments that you missed since you last logged in? I am getting all of the emails, but it would be so nice to have something that would help me easily navigate to the new notifications when I log in directly to the site, rather than linking thru the email for each update. Does that make sense?

Totally understand. The Podia platform is currently "email" heavy for its notifications, etc. They are steadily bringing more features all the time and I just saw this week talk about this very thing from an "app notifications" perspective. We'll see. Hopefully, in time they will add those features beyond email.

As for posts across all topics in r2w Community, (and you may already know this but just in case) your Community "Home" page will have all new posts, of Topics you follow, in order with newest posts at the top. That's one way to check it apart from email.

However you have to scan for comments or replies (apart from email notifications when someone replies directly to you). Also, you will get notified on posts you make in topics that are open for everyone to post... for example if you post a prayer need in "Prayer" (as a post not a comment) you will get notified (via email) regarding all comments to your post.

Thank you so much for the question and your amazing support & participation!! Let's hope the platform continues to develop these features and make notifications more streamlined.

PS.. LET ME KNOW in the comments how you were notified of this "reply" ...THX!
